Tool and Die Machinist
A manufacturing facility is seeking a highly skilled Tool and Die Machinist to join their team. This key role involves the design, construction, and development of intricate tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and machine attachments—often working without existing blueprints. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with deep knowledge of precision manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

Plan, design, and build complex tools, dies, fixtures, and attachments

Maintain close tolerances to ensure part accuracy and interchangeability

Construct tools from scratch when blueprints or designs are unavailable

Conduct tool tryouts and troubleshoot issues during development

Create and revise tooling designs to improve production efficiency

Utilize knowledge of machining, drafting, mathematics, and tool design

Perform precise fabrication work that aligns with quality and production requirements
Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience as a Tool Maker, Tool Designer, or Precision Machinist

Ability to build tooling without pre-existing designs

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques

Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and applying drafting and math skills

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Able to work independently or within a collaborative production team
