Shipping Receiving Clerk
A logistics coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, conducting regular stock counts, and assisting with inventory management processes. They work in various industries and settings, such as warehouses, retail stores, or distribution centers, to ensure efficient inventory control and support effective supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Inventory Control:

Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems or software.

Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.

Perform regular stock counts, cycle counts, or physical inventory checks to reconcile inventory quantities.

Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies or variances and take corrective actions as needed.

Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing or receiving, to ensure accurate and timely inventory updates.
Receiving and Inspection:

Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders or shipping documents.

Inspect received items for damages, defects, or quality issues.

Document and report any discrepancies or non-conforming products to the appropriate personnel.

Coordinate with suppliers or vendors to resolve receiving issues or discrepancies.
Order Fulfillment and Allocation:

Collaborate with sales, customer service, or other departments to fulfill customer orders accurately and on time.

Allocate inventory to fulfill orders based on availability and prioritization.

Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
Stock Replenishment and Allocation:

Analyze inventory levels and reorder points to determine stock replenishment needs.

Generate purchase orders or requisitions to replenish stock based on demand forecasts or inventory targets.

Coordinate with suppliers or purchasing personnel to place orders and track delivery schedules.

Allocate received inventory to appropriate locations or departments within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience as a logistics coordinator or in a similar role.

Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.

Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and data entry.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Basic computer skills and proficiency in using office software applications.
