Shift Lead

As a Shift Lead you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the production process. You will supervise a team of workers and collaborate with other departments to meet production targets, maintain quality standards, and promote a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise all activities during the assigned shift to ensure production goals are met.

  • Monitor and adjust production processes to optimize output and minimize downtime.

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to the shift team members and ensure they are performing their duties effectively.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during the shift.

  • Enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet the required specifications and industry standards.

  • Promote and enforce safety regulations, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.

  • Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, production logs, and inventory levels.

  • Train and mentor shift personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Resolve conflicts or disciplinary issues that arise within the shift team, in coordination with the human resources department.

  • Communicate effectively with other supervisors, managers, and departments to ensure smooth operations and workflow.

  • Relay relevant information, such as production updates, issues, or equipment maintenance requirements, to the appropriate stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or management education is a plus.

  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control procedures.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to production and reporting.

  • Forklift and material handling.

  •  Vehicle/Drivers’ license required

  • Prior experience with hand tools and power tools

  • Knowledge of basic shop math and measuring equipment.

  • Basic Knowledge of 2D drawings a Plus

Benefits/Compensation
  • Full Time

  • Pay rate is $16++ per hour

  • 3rd shift

  • Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts

  • Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts

  • Temp-To-Hire

  • Benefits available after probation.
