Saw Operator (Entry Level)
A Saw Operator is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing and assembling metal parts and structures using various fabrication techniques and tools. They work with different types of metals, such as steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, and transform raw materials into finished products according to specifications. A Saw Operator possess skills in cutting, shaping, and finishing metals to create functional and visually appealing components.
Responsibilities

Identify the necessary materials, measurements, and fabrication processes required for each project.

Use tools such as saws or shears to cut metal sheets or bars into desired shapes or sizes.

Operate press brakes, rolling machines, or other equipment to bend, fold, or shape metal components.

Perform precision measurements and marking to ensure accurate cutting and shaping of metal.

Smooth, grind, or polish metal surfaces to achieve the desired finish or texture.

Apply coatings, such as paint, powder coat, or protective finishes, to enhance appearance and protect against corrosion.

Conduct inspections to ensure proper surface preparation and finish quality.

Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all fabrication operations.

Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations related to metal fabrication.

Identify and report any safety hazards, near misses, or accidents to supervisors or safety personnel.
Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency in metal cutting, shaping, welding, and assembly techniques.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or fabrication plans is a bonus.

Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment, such as shears, press brakes, welding machines, or grinders.

Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.

Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality fabrications.

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Understanding of safety procedures and practices in a fabrication environment.
