Recreation Specialist
Responsibilities

Develop and lead a variety of recreational and non-vocational programs, including sports, arts, and leadership activities.

Organize and supervise weekly games, center-sponsored trips, and special events.

Coach and mentor student teams participating in on- and off-center activities.

Assist students in creative endeavors such as drama and other artistic pursuits.

Train and guide students involved in recreation and non-vocational aide programs.

Ensure all programs comply with Department of Labor (DOL) requirements.

Transport students to off-center events as needed
Qualifications and Skills
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Relevant experience working with youth in recreational, educational, or mentoring settings.

Valid driver's license and eligibility for company-sponsored vehicle insurance.

Experience in a recreation, youth mentorship, or non-vocational program.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger bus endorsement is a plus.

Solid understanding of recreational and youth-oriented activities.

Strong ability to build rapport with young adults from diverse backgrounds.

Motivational leadership skills to encourage student participation.

Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team
