Production Scheduler

A well-established industrial manufacturing company in Erie, PA is looking for a detail-focused Production Scheduler to support their manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be able to manage competing priorities, coordinate resources, and keep production moving efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create and manage production schedules based on customer orders, demand, and available resources.

  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and engineering to coordinate materials, equipment, and staffing needs.

  • Review production progress and make scheduling changes when priorities, demand, or resource availability change.

  • Organize production priorities according to customer delivery requirements and follow up on delayed orders.

  • Address scheduling challenges, material shortages, and capacity constraints that could affect production.

  • Keep Sales and Customer Service informed of order progress and anticipated delivery dates.

  • Assist with determining realistic delivery and promise dates for customer orders.

  • Review production information and prepare reports to monitor order status, performance, and scheduling trends.

  • Keep production schedules, work orders, and inventory information current and accurate.

  • Maintain ERP system information related to forecasts, inventory, lead times, and expected deliveries.

  • Look for opportunities to improve scheduling practices and help increase overall production efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 2+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning, preferably within a manufacturing setting.

  • Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding, paint/powder coating, or assembly is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with experience using ERP/MRP systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to organize work, shift priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
