Production Scheduler
A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler to support production operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for coordinating workflows, managing production schedules, and ensuring materials and work orders move efficiently to meet customer deadlines.
The ideal candidate has experience in production scheduling or manufacturing coordination and thrives in a role that requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities

Maintain and update production and inventory control systems with accurate, real-time data

Coordinate and stage work to meet production schedules and maximize efficiency

Generate, print, and manage work orders to support daily operations
-
Monitor workflow and track materials throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely completion

Identify and resolve discrepancies in work orders, inventory, or system data to maintain WIP accuracy
-
Act as a liaison between production teams and internal business groups to resolve scheduling conflicts

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, planning, inspection, etc.) to support workflow and resolve issues
-
Assist in developing daily schedules, short-term capacity plans, and production build plans
-
Monitor capacity constraints and coordinate solutions such as overtime, staffing adjustments, or rerouting work

Support material flow by coordinating release of components to address shortages

Work closely with planning teams to support procurement and manage part availability

Develop and maintain recovery schedules to meet customer demands
-
Prepare status updates and respond to internal requests for production and shipping information
-
Coordinate tooling, prints, and setup documentation required for production
-
Support packaging coordination to ensure product integrity during shipment
-
Train and assist less experienced team members as needed

Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean projects
-
Operate material handling equipment (forklift, carts, etc.) as needed

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 2 years of experience in production scheduling, dispatching, or manufacturing planning within a computerized system

Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP), capacity planning, and shop floor control

Experience working with ERP systems and production/inventory tracking tools

Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents, blueprints, and work instructions

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

Basic mechanical understanding and familiarity with manufacturing processes preferred

Proficiency with computers and web-based applications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Problem-solving and analytical thinking

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Flexibility and willingness to learn multiple functions
