Prevention Education Specialist
A local organization is seeking a Prevention Education Specialist to deliver structured educational presentations and prevention programs to K–12 students in school and community settings. This role focuses on engaging students through age-appropriate education on topics such as substance use prevention, vaping, social media safety, healthy decision-making, leadership, and other youth risk behaviors. All curriculum, lesson plans, and program materials are provided, allowing the specialist to focus on presenting, connecting with students, and creating a positive learning environment. This is an education-focused role and does not involve counseling, therapy, case management, or disciplinary intervention.
Responsibilities

Deliver structured prevention education programs to K–12 students.

Lead classroom presentations, small-group discussions, and interactive learning activities.

Present information in an engaging, professional, and age-appropriate manner.

Build positive relationships with students and encourage participation.

Follow established lesson plans, program guidelines, and educational objectives.

Review lesson plans and materials in advance to be prepared for scheduled programs.

Maintain accurate attendance and program participation records.

Communicate professionally with school personnel, community partners, and supervisors.

Travel to participating schools and community locations as needed.

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when interacting with students and school staff.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, community, mentoring, coaching, or prevention setting preferred.

Strong public speaking, communication, and group facilitation skills.

Comfortable engaging and presenting to groups of students.

Dependable, energetic, flexible, and able to serve as a positive role model.

Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable driving between program locations.

Ability to stand and present for extended periods.

Ability to lift and transport educational materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Must be able to obtain all required clearances prior to employment, including Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History, Pennsylvania Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
