Mold Changeover Technician

A manufacturing company is seeking a Process Technician / Mold Changeover Technician to support operations within the Tool Room. This role is responsible for performing mold changeovers, maintaining and repairing injection molds, and providing guidance to machine operators. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in injection molding, strong mechanical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Review production schedules, identify molds for changeover, and adapt quickly to schedule changes.

  • Perform mold changeovers, including inserts and date code adjustments.

  • Ensure molds are production-ready and assist machine operators with setup and troubleshooting.

  • Clean, lubricate, and properly tag molds, inserts, and secondary equipment.

  • Load and unload solvent tanks during mold cleaning.

  • Perform minor fabrication, repair of mold components, fixtures, gauges, and hot manifold/sprue systems.

  • Maintain accurate records of mold locations and components.

  • Support coworkers as needed and keep the tool room organized and clean.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ years of experience in injection molding or tooling preferred (not required).

  • Basic knowledge of tooling and production equipment.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.

  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages).

  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts.

  • Professional, team-oriented attitude.

  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing.

  • Frequent use of hands for handling and operating tools and equipment.

  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

  • Ability to lift 50–70 lbs. regularly, and heavier items with overhead lift assistance.

  • First shift (7am – 3pm)  

  • $16/hr

  • Temp to hire position
