Material Mover/Shipping Assistant
A local Fairview company is seeking a Material Mover/Shipping Assistant to assist with the routine transfer of materials. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the shop floor by keeping a safe and organized workplace. The ideal candidate will follow all company procedures and serve as an active employee of the company in fast paced environment.
Responsibilities

Operate a sit-down forklift, industrial truck, and electric hoist safely.

Organize the shop floor through safe and effective staging of material.

Supply operators with raw materials, empty boxes, and skids for continuous production.

Follow routine housekeeping procedures.

Serve as an active employee of the company by brainstorming solutions to novel problems, training new employees, and reporting potential safety hazards.

Implement work order instructions as written or follow verbal instructions.

Keep records of weight and number of materials used.

Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or general education degree.

Fluent speaking and understanding of the English language.

Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift, industrial truck, and electrical hoist.

Physical ability to perform all duties assigned.
-
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs without assistance.
-
Previous material moving and staging experience a plus.
