Electrical Maintenance/Repair Technician

We are seeking a motivated, self-managing Repair Technician with a strong electrical background to join our Pittsburgh team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an independent work environment – you will manage your own schedule, take service calls directly, and work with a high level of freedom while ensuring quality repairs and customer satisfaction.

The primary focus will be diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on overhead cranes, conveyors, and lifting equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and have solid electrical troubleshooting experience. Mechanical skills are a plus, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems on overhead cranes, conveyors, and related equipment.

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on power and control circuits, including electro-mechanical components.

  • Diagnose, repair, and replace variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and motor monitors.

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.

  • Install and mount components such as motors, bearings, gears, wheels, and seals.

  • Adjust and replace electrical brakes and brake parts.

  • Safely work at heights using ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

  • Independently manage scheduling of calls, repairs, and service records.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs, contracts, and updates.

  • Travel within the Pittsburgh region with occasional trips into Ohio and West Virginia (some overnight stays may be required).

Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong electrical background required (mechanical training provided if needed).

  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems.

  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL not required, but preferred).

  • Comfortable working at elevated heights.

  • Must pass a background check.

  • Non-smokers preferred due to customer site policies.

  • Highly motivated, self-reliant, and able to work without direct supervision.

  • $59-63k based on experience
