Lumber Handler (Palm Sander)
A lumber handler with palm sander responsibilities plays a key role in preparing wood materials for production by sanding, handling, and organizing lumber. This position ensures the smooth flow of materials through the production process and supports the overall efficiency and quality of wood products. The lumber handler works closely with production teams, warehouse personnel, and supervisors to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Responsibilities

Smooth and prepare lumber surfaces using palm sanders and other hand tools to get materials production-ready.

Safely handle, move, and stack lumber to meet production flow needs.

Inspect lumber for defects and ensure only top-quality materials move forward.

Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks or production lines.

Keep sanding and storage areas clean and organized for efficient workflow.

Follow production schedules to make sure sanded lumber reaches the right departments on time.

Always follow company safety procedures and wear proper PPE.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to hit production goals.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with lumber or hand tools (like palm sanders) a plus—but not required, training is provided!

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Basic knowledge of workplace safety and tool handling.
