Electrical/Control Technician – Steel Industry

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of industrial equipment.

Install, set up, and maintain control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and automation equipment.

Work with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, RSlogix 500/5000, and DirectLogic platforms.

Handle AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives, and motors.

Inspect and test electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and appliances to ensure safety and efficiency.

Read and interpret electrical wire diagrams and schematics.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, recommend equipment upgrades, and install new electrical components.

Maintain high safety and performance standards in all tasks.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or GED; Electrician Qualification Certificate required.

4+ years of experience as an Electrical/Control Technician in an industrial setting.

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, low voltage control, and National Electrical Code.

Experience with 460/480V, 3-phase power.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Reliable, self-directed, and able to work well with a team.
