Electrical Controls Technician

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a wide range of industrial equipment.

Install, configure, and maintain control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation technology.

Work with industry-leading platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens, utilizing tools like RSLogix 500/5000 and Direct Logic.

Set up and maintain AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives, and motors for optimal performance.

Inspect electrical systems, identify hazards, and implement effective solutions to keep operations safe and efficient.

Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose and resolve system issues.

Use advanced testing equipment (voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers) to ensure system reliability.

Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on critical equipment.

Recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance system performance.

Install new electrical equipment and fixtures, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or GED and an Electrician Qualification Certificate.

4+ years of hands-on experience as an Electrical/Control Technician in an industrial setting.

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, low voltage controls, and the National Electrical Code.

Experience working with 460/480V, 3-phase power systems.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
