Box Truck Delivery Driver
A Delivery Driver is responsible for operating a box truck to transport and deliver heavy materials to customers or designated locations. They play a vital role in the logistics and transportation industry, ensuring safe and timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a box truck or delivery vehicle to transport goods or materials to assigned destinations.

Efficiently load and unload heavy materials UP TO 90 LBS from the delivery vehicle, ensuring secure placement and handling to prevent damage.

Handle heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading, unloading, and delivering heavy materials.

Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, maintaining a strong focus on safety.

Follow established routes and schedules or use GPS systems to navigate to delivery locations in a timely and efficient manner.

Load and unload cargo from the truck, utilizing appropriate equipment, such as dollies or pallet jacks, as needed.

Secure and protect the cargo during transit to prevent damage or loss.

Review delivery orders or manifests to determine the quantity, type, and specific requirements of the goods to be delivered.

Verify the accuracy of delivery orders, ensuring that the correct items and quantities are loaded onto the truck.

Plan and organize delivery routes to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.

Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, supervisors, or customers to provide status updates, address any issues, or coordinate special delivery requirements.

Collect and record proof of delivery (POD) documents, obtaining signatures, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, handling inquiries, resolving complaints, or escalating issues to the appropriate parties.
Qualifications and Skills

Valid driver's license.

Clean driving record and the ability to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.

Be in good physical health as this is an extremely demanding job.

Knowledge of local traffic laws, regulations, and routes.

Familiarity with GPS systems and navigation tools.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.

Physical stamina and the ability to lift, load, and unload heavy items or materials.

Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet delivery deadlines.

Attention to detail and accuracy in completing delivery orders, paperwork, and documentation.

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
