Collections Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application and Collections Analyst to join our client’s accounting team in Erie, PA. In this role, you’ll process accounts receivables and remittances while building collaborative relationships with customers and sales managers to resolve billing issues, reconcile accounts, and meet monthly collection targets.
Responsibilities

Process and reconcile accounts receivables and remittances

Monitor receivables to ensure timely processing

Assist with collection efforts to meet or exceed cash collection goals

Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding invoices, payments, and agreement terms

Lead meetings with customers and internal team members to minimize past due accounts

Identify areas to improve A/R processes and communicate changes to stakeholders

Work with Customer Service to correct billing discrepancies

Minimize bad debt write-offs by achieving aging objectives

Provide accurate reporting and metrics on past due accounts

Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as needed
Qualifications and Skills

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable and collections

Strong Microsoft Excel and general reporting skills

High attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to meet tight deadlines

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with JD Edwards or a similar ERP system is a plus
