CNC Set Up
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to set up and run CNC lathes and machining equipment in a heavy industrial machining environment. This position focuses on machining and removing steel material from large parts and components while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong setup experience, the ability to independently operate machines, and hands-on experience machining large steel parts on CNC lathes.
Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes and machining equipment to machine large steel components to precise specifications

Perform complete machine setups including tooling changes, fixture setup, offsets, and program adjustments

Machine and remove steel material from large parts while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T to ensure accurate production

Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency and quality standards

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators
-
Load, position, and secure large/heavy steel workpieces using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment

Edit programs and troubleshoot machining or setup issues to minimize downtime and reduce scrap

Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work environment

Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure deadlines and specifications are met
Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience as a CNC Setup Machinist, CNC Lathe Operator, or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment

Strong experience setting up and operating CNC lathes with large part machining experience required

Experience machining steel components in a heavy industrial or production setting

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T

Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges

Experience using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to move large materials safely

Ability to maintain tight tolerances and produce quality parts consistently

Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
Benefits/Compensation

First Shift: 6am to 4pm M-TH

Pay Rate is $22+ per hour DOE.
