Building Maintenance (with Construction Skills)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Maintenance Technician with experience in construction and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of skills, including general building maintenance and the ability to perform construction tasks such as tearing down walls, drywall installation, patching, and painting. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities.
Responsibilities

General Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various building systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical).

Construction Tasks:

Tear down interior walls and properly dispose of materials.

Frame new walls or sections of the building, if required.

Install and repair drywall, ensuring smooth finishes.

Apply joint compound, sand, and prep walls for painting.

Paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to match existing colors or specifications.

Install or replace flooring, ceiling tiles, and other building materials as needed.

Carpentry Work: Build, repair, and maintain fixtures, furniture, and doors.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to building codes and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance personnel, contractors, and external vendors for more specialized work.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or repairs needed.
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in building maintenance, with a focus on construction and carpentry skills.

Proficiency in drywall installation, painting, and basic carpentry.

Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and technical specifications.

Familiarity with power tools and construction equipment.

Knowledge of local building codes and safety standards.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
Benefits/Compensation
