Accounting Clerk
A local insurance company is looking to add a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Clerk specializing in accounts payable to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately applying premium payments, as well as balancing and reconciling general ledger accounts. The right candidate will have a friendly and outgoing demeanour, and will be a strong team player.
Responsibilities

Manage daily financial transactions with a focus on accuracy and adherence to established procedures

Protect and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial and banking information

Review, process, and maintain vouchers and accounts payable ensuring all invoices are paid accurately and timely
-
Prepare month-end accounts payable accruals

Review and process daily benefit-related disbursements
-
Process daily non-new business premium receipts
-
Book applicable journal entries in the accounting software
-
Assist with various quarterly/annual balancing procedures and account reconciliations

Assist with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Basic accounting knowledge and skills preferred

Strong Microsoft Excel/spreadsheet skills and moderate Microsoft Word/word processing skills
